One of the most versatile composers of sacred choral music is Mary McDonald. With more than 1,000 published compositions spanning 40 years, her choral music has reached audiences worldwide. Powerful hymn settings, majestic original music, and southern gospel are among many of the diverse styles this composer has crafted. By breathing new life into scriptures or giving wings to favorite hymns, Mary’s choral music satisfies the heart of the listener. One of the premiere music ministries in the USA is Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston, TX. Under the exceptional and dynamic leadership of Carlos Ichter, the music ministry program has maintained the highest level of choral achievement, sharing music both home and abroad. With more than 150 singers and 40 instrumentalists, this project was recorded in a live performance in September of 2018. The partnership of McDonald and Tallowood was a collaboration of the heart. Both Mary and Carlos were feeling led to record a choral project and were connected by God’s design, at a summer conference, which ignited the concept. Along with recording manager, Dawn Young, and master engineer, Andy Bradley, the dream became a reality.
